Obviously this design is trying to snag some macfag's attention and get them to buy a pc, but those people are going to buy a mac regardless of how similar a pc might be. I bought a $1200 HP laptop.

I'm a photographer, and needed something powerful enough for Lightroom and Photoshop, but slim and light enough to slip into the back pocket of a camera bag. A MacBook Air would've fit the bill fine, but I wanted consistency and compatibility with my PC desktop and peripherals. The HP was attractive, I liked the stylus capability, and it had the best reviews of anything in its range at the time.

I use a desktop at home. (I'm on it right now.)

I do contract work for several different companies, and spend a few days a week at each location, so I need to cart a computer around with me. In addition to photography I also write website copy, blog posts, etc. for them, so I need to be able to work with my client over my shoulder and can't just shoot and then go home, too. I also work out of town frequently, both for those clients and others, and need to work out of hotel rooms and on planes and stuff.

I've got one. It is indeed very sexy. Learn to not touch that copper though.

I think the form itself is sexy as fuck, but I hate the black/copper thing. I just think it's a tacky color combo, like poor people trying to look rich kind of shit. I don't like the logo on the lid either, the '60s-style "Hewlett Packard" on the X360 was super classy, this just looks like stupid video game shit.

I think it might look nice with piano black or matte silver replacing the copper, though.

I'm not the anon you responded to, but I would not prefer 15" or dGPU. Not at all. What I use my laptop for falls into five categories:
1. Programming
2. Email
3. Web browsing
4. Listening to music
5. Occasional video conference calls.
When I'm doing real work on it (e.g. programming), I'm normally plugged into an external monitor. Both the 14" screen and the external are 1440p and running both doesn't tax the integrated GPU. It plays 1080p60 youtube videos fine, and that's about as intense as my GPU use gets.

I have a laptop primarily for its portability. I consider whatever hardware first passes the "acceptable for work" threshold, and then select for portability/weight and keyboard layout. Currently have an i7-5600U with 16GB RAM.
