Since PCI Express slots provide 75 watts of power, can I power this 64 watt graphics card without plugging in the 6 pin power?

try it for yourself, but if you try anything intensive, it might blue screen from more power draw

Isn't that exactly what the big hype surrounding the 750ti was about. That had no need for cables because it was drawing all it's power from the PCI?
I remember everyone getting hyped about making quiet cable-free HTPCs and Steam Machines with it.

this
the 950 uses 90 watts of power and delivers a modest 20% performance gain. The 750ti has the best watt performance ratio. Im hoping we can see a 1050gtx with no 6pin and performance similar to a oc 960.

750 was the comfiest card
I also hope the 1050 will be at at least 960 levels and TI at 960OC (nayb
e but less likely close to 970) levels at 70-80W

why a 1050? I fucking hate the 960 I have now, it's shit and can barely runs Witcher 3 at high but from the looks of the 1060 I can run the Witcher 3 stable at 60fps

you can, but you can't overclock at all.
also sometimes it won't boot without it.
just spend the $30 to get like a cx 430 psu ya cheapass.
