just because you don't like the form factor it does not make it bad technology, flip phones actually would solve a problem millions of people have with smartphones, they're too fragile because you have a piece of glass on the front of the screen, the clam shell design ensures that your screen is protected without the added bulk of a extra case.

if there were more clam shell smartphones out there i'd bet there's a significant part of the market who would buy them.
