Anyone here have a 21.5'' monitor and regret not getting bigger?
>>
>>55680545
Yes and Yes
I've had it for years though and will be upgrading to 27" soon
>>
>>55680621
what do you use it for?
>>
I'm fine with 24 thanks. I find my friend's 21 small
>>
24" 1080p monitor broke a month or two ago

currently on a 21" 1600x900 monitor

Doesn't bother me desu if I want to watch or play something on a big screen I'll use my TV
>>
>>55680634
Gaming, College, Porn, Movies.
I regret it because at around ~10' away I can't sit back with a controller and play games that are complex and require any reading.
I can usually watch movies without a problem at that distance though.
>>
A 22 inch monitor is just fine for me.
>>
>>55680698
ah so if it was just for web browsing and studying you wouldn't mind the size of it?
>>
>>55680734
Nope. Only reason I've kept it for so long is because I rarely want to sit back and game at that distance. I'm usually sitting on my computer leaned back with maybe 3 feet distance? Works fine.
>>
>>55680770
To clarify, no I wouldn't mind the size of it.
>>
>>55680786
yep i got it thanks
>>
can someone explain why using a 24inch full hd tv as a monitor looks so crap? yet full hd seems to be the standard resolution for a 24inch monitor. Is my tv just bad?
>>
>>55680545
bought a 21.5" then was given a 24". bought another 24" now i want a 27" 144hz. think 21.5 is fine for the majority of people

it all depends on how far away you are going to sit from the monitor though
imo 24 inch is ideal
not too big at arms lenght
not too small when you kick back and watch from further away
>>
>>55682920
just looked at 24inch in a shop and if anything it seemed unnecessarily wide. but feel like its a waste just getting a 22
>>
>>55682920
are these benq gaymen monitors just memes? i mean, unless the person is a "pro", i don't see why input lag would even matter.
>>
>>55684133
I have the monitor in the picture. It's great. Build quality, features and the picture is super. There is no reason splurge on a "gaming" monitor like this unless you play competetive games, quake live, csgo etc
>>
>>55681381
TV is not a fucking monitor maybe?
>>
can you get modern quality 5:4 monitors with hdmi input? can't find any
>>
>>55680545
I have something that big, but can't regret it since it's 10 years old
Wouldn't buy one now though
>>
>>55684809
lol why would you want 5:4

16:9 is the best
>>
>>55684809
5:4 is not supported anymore , therefore no. Ten/fifteen years ago, then sure.

Why cry over 4:3 when we have 1:1?
>>
I'm leaning towards getting a dell 1440p monitor. Few other companies deliver features i'd actually use like adjustable stands and usb 3.0 hubs.
>>
how much better is ips? is it worth waiting for delivery over a same price one i can buy from the shop today?
>>
>>55686001
Depends on what youre after. If you want the perfect color reproduction and vibrancy and also want to be able to see the display well from any angle (not just front) then it sounds very worth it. If youre just going for gaming though a TN should do well with lower latencies and cheaper prices.

I have a SyncMaster 2343(BWPlus/BWXPlus). Had this thing since 09. I don't really feel the need to have another monitor at the moment. The only downside is the depth thickness but I'm not carrying it around everywhere and you can't see the back of it with my desk so no aesthetic compromise.
>>
>spend £200 on a new monitor
>day later 2 stuck pixels

You'd think after how many years they would have fixed this shit.
>>
>>55685680
I'm crying over that 1:1 aesthetic. What are you doing with your life with that thing? Editing your instagram pics?
>>
>>55686196
>spend £200
you fell for the sub-200 meme.

that's your problem.
>>
>>55680770
>/g/ i prefer to sit really far from my screen buck my eyes r so good
>>
>>55686088
well i went and looked at monitors in the shop and they all looked pretty shitty and with poor colours compared to my old macbook which doesn't have a particularly high resolution so I assumed that tn are just a bit shitty. or maybe i need more ppi
>>
>>55686232
Looking at it closer it appears to be a light spot rather than a dead pixel.
Asus vg248 btw. I have 3 years warranty if it gets any worse.
>>
>>55680545
I will keep using my 2009 era 21.5" monitor until there is a cheap low lag 4k 40"+ TV on the market that is not a shitty 4:2:2 pos.
>>
What is a good 1440p monitor for digital design work?

I've been looking at this Asus PB278Q several times while I frequent my local Micro Center. Their ultra wides there seem too gamer-meme and I just want to do quality work.
>>
>>55680545
Yes
No
Don't make yet another general you dumb piece of shit
>>
Are the pixels on a 24 inch 1080p monitor too big? Is it noticeable if you're sitting about 20 inches away? What about a 27 inch 1080p?
>>
>>55686903
I don't notice them on my 24" 1080p Dell, but there is a Dell model that is 27" and they become noticeable. Not horrid, but definitely there. Reason why I am looking for a 27" 1440p monitor to use as a primary monitor.
>>
>>55685680
shmups, old animu etc.
>>
I live in an apartment on campus that has bedrooms the size of dorm rooms including dorm like furniture so my 23 inch screen is perfect for that style of desk.
