Does /g/ prefer Raspberry Pi or Banana Pi?

I have an RPi, I use it for quite a lot as a home server/dev box.
They're both trash
Orange PI is superior.
honestly there's a lot of pi's to pick from. which do i go for. which is the go-to one for a small server?

If we knew that we wouldn't be having this thread. It's like asking what's the best car.
Do you need what the Banana PI is offering more?
If not get the standart PI since nearly everything you could do with it, has been done already and is well documented.
Is it possible to install linux on a Mini M8S II?
I think a S905X (2Ghz, not 1.5) is better than an A20, unless it has no drivers so I cannot watch chinese cartoons in mpv

lolno
Raspberry pi is too tart for my tastes...banana pie is defiantly superior in flavor.

>le xd mane im funy as hel
with raspberry pi you're definitely getting the most support and the biggest community
LADS
I want a sbc that has:
>video and audio out
>capability to play 1080p bluray remuxes (H.264, VC-1 and MPEG2)
>2 USB ports (one for keyboard to control and one for ext. HDD)
What is the cheapest sbc that would fulfil this requirement?

this, support>raw power, it doesn't matter if you have the best of the best, if you don't have support, you're on your own, and as >>55671508 said, pretty much everything is documented and you won't have compatibility issues if you want to run something made for the rpi 1 if you have the rpi 3, same goes for the Arduinos.

baited

a pi would work great

For what are these things for anyway? Why are them spammed on /g/ so hard?

The original idea is to bring back the days when you could wire something up to a computer and learn about interfaces, electronics, and programming for hardware.
The average nerd gets one, installs linux, dicks with it for half an hour then puts it on a shelf.
The powernerd uses one for a htpc when much better options are available.
Then there are the megafags who only want one so they can design and 3d-print a case to make it look like a steampunk difference engine.
I guess schools use them for projects sometimes, don't really know about that.
