Is there honestly any point in getting a 1070 at the moment?

1. There is no Nvidia gimping, that's just a myth made up by AMDtards.

2. The 1070 uses a lot less power and puts off a lot less heat.

I play games out of date and strategy games primarily, but my pc has been unable to keep up with some embarrassingly old games.
What kind of a gpu should I get on my long time comping upgrade considering I'm cheaper than a jewish hobo?

Palit GameRock is £380 at Scan right now. Ugly as fuck, but the cooler is one of the best, if not the best on any 1070.

Nah. I had their Super Jetstream 980 Ti and it was a fantastic card. Extremely quiet. Their 1070s use the same cooler, although the Guitar Hero-esque styling on the GameRock is hideous. I don't have a window on my case though, so I wouldn't give a fuck if I was in the market for a 1070. For the same price as the cheap, shitty blowers like the MSI Aero it's a no-brainer.

I just ordered a 1070 FTW from Newegg.

Tons of vram for ppl at higher resolutions, better performance than a 980 ti, and much more bang for your buck than a 1080.
