i use makeshift footrests, trying to find a better option but all "professional" things look uninteresting or clunky

True. Most desks sit too low for me and my current desk is a tall wobbly mess.

I might just get that futon-chair from Ross/TJ Maxx and get a used desk with drawers(about $20-40) and resurface it to look brand new.

Also, this is my current chair which sucks.

Yes. I use some yoga blocks I found laying around.

When I was a kid my parent's had a piece of shit composite board desk that looks similar to pic related.

I would pull the monitor and peripherals around to a side and tuck an ottoman into the corner of the desk for maximum recline.

Now if I do anything on my pc for an extended period of time I just route to my TV and chill in a recliner.

Moral of the story, get a shitty angle desk or buy a TV.
