NBN is coming in two days, so I'm looking at the Fritz!Box 4790. I could just use the standalone modem that comes with the ISP I'll be going with, but the modem they ship can't be put into bridge mode, which as I understand it, means there'll be issues if I try and whack a decent router behind it. AC1750 on the FBox should be fine, and I've really heard nothing but good things about it.

had WRT54G with DD-WRT firmware

got Asus RT-AC68U, installed DD-WRT and configured with exact same settings. smooth transition, more powerful performance and all in household have been very satisfied with network. 2 desktop PCs, 1 Roku, 1 "smart" TV, 3 smart phones and two tablets. 3 users.
80Mb/5Mb internet connection.
