Is this the future of VR headset?
If Razer is involved with something it probably isn't going anywhere.
Acer got involved with the people who designed the StarVR headset, and that at least will probably make a tiny bit of headway for professional use.
The industry has major work to do if they expect these expensive peripherals to take off for gaming. The overwhelming majority of VR titles and software are gimmicky bullshit.
Alright, quick guys:

Do I buy this?
189 bucks, HDMI connection.
Downside is it's chinkstuff
Hard to find reviews for this one.
Do I order before I go to bed?

It looks like a cardboard headset with a chink display in it, and the marketing suggests it's set up for streaming media.
If your phone can run cardboard, you don't need to pay more than $25 for a comfortable headset.

My phone is too small, sadly.
When I hook this up to my PC via the HDMI, will I be able to play for example Unturned on steam in VR?
>>55654248
no, it looks like that is just for 3d video, not vr
>>55654248
>Nah, it's just a second display, basically and for cardboard apps.

Here's a review.

steamvr has very few headsets that are compatible with it. even OSVR needs you to manually add drivers and references in certain code to set it up for steamvr
this won't have any support

>is this completely unsupported device the future of VR headset?
no
i hope one day vr devs will realize it's all about building large game library now instead of fighting over their own API superiority
i don't believe it'll happen though
I have an LG VOLT 2 its got a slight curve in it by design. Do you guys think i can still use a vr headset with it?
>>55657481
Valve is trying to do exactly that with their OpenVR API.
