You can use your own images as icons (see >>55651720).

Also, about the clock thing, you should be able to make a 1x1 widget in KWGT, but pick a tiny font size; it shouldn't be any bigger than the start button itself. It should also be black and slightly pixelated.

I'm not near my riced phone right now, so I can't help ya much.
