genuine non-fanboy discussion on this?
you cant
nvidia is the apple of graphics card

Both are great 1080p60 ultra settings cards while rx-480 gets +10 stat bonus on post dx11 games.

form what I've seen, nvidia is catching up as far as dx12 and vulkan go.
the more I read into this the more I think they're equivalent perf/price wise, each with titles that favor them.
what a tough fucking decision, seriously. gonna wait to see the non-reference models duke it out.
What is the price of 1060?
>>55650777
$249-279

>form what I've seen, nvidia is catching up as far as dx12 and vulkan go.
That's not true though, all of the reviews intentionally exclude DOOM Vulkan except from hardOCP

>1060 vs RX480
~7% faster in DX11 1080p
~15 slower in DX12/Vulkan 1080p
DX11/OpenGL games? 1060
DX12/Vulkan games? RX480
Best price value? $199 RX480 4GB.
Best future proofing? $240 RX480 8GB.
Best DX11 only games? GTX 1060
Best DX12 only games? RX480

Dead end technology. It's like clinging to dx9. I'd just buy whatever is the cheapest and wait for the real fight in 2018 when nvidia makes actual hardware for dx12.

when comparing refference models it looks like it's 380 vx 960 all over again, with 480 being the a bit slower and a bit cheaper card.
we'll see if AIBs can fix the situation for ATI.

It's not very futureproof if there are 12 DX12 games released and another 13 announced. And 3 - T H R E E Vulkan games and one more announced.
One of them is Dota 2, which you can run on iGPU just fine, and the other one is sponsored AMD "game".

yeah, you're actually right. looking at more and more sources.
the 480 is the clear winner.
