nah m8, it's a Lenovo ideapad 305

build quality is superb. 15 (or 15.5?) inch for maximum visual gains, Keyboard with numpad, variety of useful buttons replacing the F-buttons, touchpad situated appropriately at the perfect spot just left of center.

I've just googled keyboard flex, but it's not too noticeable here, very tiny sink. At the same time, it's not too stiff

Mid-2012 13" MBP. 16GB RAM and 240GB SSD. Currently dual-booting El Capitan and Ubuntu. Shit's comfy, but the current font for OSX is clearly not meant for non-retina displays anymore. I installed a hack that reverts it back to the older font for that reason.
>>
MacBook 2016, not as fast as my i7 Inspiron (half the speed), but come on, 920 grams! RAW editing with Camera RAW and processing is really acceptable, everything else are running snappy. With an M cpu, it's just a fuckin magical performance. If you don't need the currently available smallest size and weight, I would not recommend. But I'm really happy with this shit, when I throw this miracle in my bag, I don't feel it's weight, and can do my work on the field.

Hmm speaking of chrome book how much does one go for now at days. I added part to the mac book a like 8gbs and 1tb to it but its a core 2 duo which is a drawback tho.
>>
>>55656004
Depends on the specs, I got a pretty sweet deal for a chromebook during the amazon prime day for £99 and even at 2GB RAM, it's good for programming. Higher specs would reach into the £200 to £400 mark, then if you're hardcore and have more money than sense, the price jumps to £1000 for the Chromebook Pixel, but at that point, you may as well get the similarly priced rMBP
>>
I just got a 13'' 2012 non retina mbp really cheap. What should I upgrade first? ram or SSD?

>>
>>55656142
I haven't tried, but I doubt it.

I'm guessing the macbook doesn't have that capability either? Seems there's few laptops that provide that capability
>>
>>55652387
I have to use a Mac Book Pro for work, this is the first time I use a Mac at all. Besides it is general fagottery, they clearly put some effort into the user interface, specially Retina is really nice. But they clearly put faggot style over functionality, which is clearly a pain in the ass. And a lot of things are optimized for noobs, wich makes doing real work sometimes pretty hard. I mean, can you believe, that there is no possibility to go a folder up in the file manager. It is amazingly ridiculous.
>>
>>55656179
Well in my circumstances i have a late 2008 macbook that i can change the parts easily rather than the later editions

It jumps so much because of Apple's amazing cooling design. The two heat pipes go over both the CPU and GPU. These two are parallel to each other on the circuit. When the GPU is deactivated, heat goes right through it to the fins. When it's active, because it is between the CPU and the fins, heat travels in both directions to the cooling fins AND the CPU. If the CPU is idle and the GPU is working, the CPU will eventually heat up to the GPU temperature, even at idle. The reverse is true too. External monitors force the GPU to be active.

It also doesn't help that the cooling fins are so small and there is no true vent.

I mean, it isn't my main machine. I like having it for daily carry because they are super durable in a backpack since they are made of FUCKING METAL.
I mean good for you if you are welfare trash and need to make your Thinkpad last 10 years but I like to upgrade my tech every five years and get this big guy; most wangblows machines bought in best buy last 2 years max.

This.

Why would Apple stop making toddler OSs when they sell so well to brain dead retards that can't even handle 2 button mice?

>those wealthy and upper class ones

By the amount of cringe I can tell you're not even 17 yet. If you went outside and had a job you'd know what people are like who aren't your parents. Doesn't it hurt a little that to protect your Android and Microsoft shilling that you have to call others other people what you are? What a life.

After roughly 8 years of being on-and-off /g/ I can safely say that this entire board is literal autism and cancer. Speaking of damage control, where's your alternative, I want a laptop that doesn't throttle under stress testing.

Poorfags dont understand Apple. Sadly they dont have a choice, they cant afford MacBooks so they have to hate it in every way possible.

People that can afford Macbooks could probably buy anything else but they stay on MacBooks because they are the best in the market and anything else would be inferior in some way.

Its pointless to argue with people like this.

No it's not.
>overall flimsy diving board piece of shit
Nope.
>even applel themselves has admitted it's utter shit now and has trashed the design to go back to copying 90's era laptops with solid non-click touchpads
This is fucking stupid, they never should've dropped the clickpad.
>still has no real buttons
clickpad > trackpad with real buttons
>>
>>55658399
it's amazing that people still get flustered over this ancient pasta
>>
>>55658476
>>still has no real buttons
>clickpad > trackpad with real buttons

What? I went years without using a regular mouse on a laptop, and a clickpad would be the most annoying shit for me. Maybe it's just because I played games on it a lot, but I just can't see myself ever liking not having real buttons.
>>
>>55658422
I can afford it and almost bought one. But I realized how stupid of a purchase it was. I just can't justify paying so much for a "user experience".
>>
>>55658541
Clickpads are so much better it's not even funny. I will never buy a TrackPointless laptop that doesn't have a clickpad
>>
>>55658555
Sure. Different people, different needs.

Its just bizarre how mad some people here get when you mention a brand.
>>
>>55658422
The bait is real here, but it's tasty. I shelled out the big bucks for a gaming laptop (the portability of which was and is still useful enough to me to justify the massive price different between laptops and desktops). I could have easily gotten a Macbook, but I wanted something that could actually do more than my phone.
>>
>>55658506
Because it's objective fact and macfags rage and cry when they have no way to argue against it.
>>
I use an 11" macbook air that I got for free. I installed debian on it, works fine. I like it, but the cringey apple on the front kills the design for me.
