Hey /g/ents,
I have been messing around with opencv for a little while, and I'm trying to identify certain patterns from a line, I'm trying to predict upcoming maximas and minimas... the problem is, the data is very noisy, and I'm not sure what to use to smooth out those lines. Any thoughts?

Are you talking about finding straight lines in an image, or just a general data line?

what about replicating the line onto a matrix,maybe it can give you more tools,than reduce it after processing and then analyze it ?

Moving average isnt that good since it offers a delay with the smoothing.
