my wifes phone was having issues charging, turns out the port was worn and would only charge if you were pulling the cable down so it would pull the connector up. i put the phone on the night stand with a small weight on the cable and a water bottle on the phone to hold it down. well i woke up this morning and the phone is off again and no charge light comes on, and it turns out the bottle sweat a lot and there was water on the phone, im concerned it went into the speaker holes and jacked up the phone. should i even bother with the rice trick or something, or is she hooped? pic related, its a htc (uwot) m8

Last time something similar happened was back in like'09 with my iPod touch 3rd gen.
I dropped it in the years and it stormed at night(Florida).
I found it in the morning and it was blank.
So I opened my oven and put my iPod on the oven door while the heat was on 400°F.
I didn't put it inside the oven, just on the opened door. After 20 minutes it dried up and it was good
