My read on this is that OP put some antisemitic code into something and his boss recognized it and was offended.

I dunno man. Own it? I wrote some code using Butt as shorthand for button, which lead to some downright silly code. I'm pretty sure there's a function in active code out there somewhere called dropButts. To my knowledge, nobody has ever observed or cared about this, but it's not tantamount to holocaust denial like your fuck up.

The issue is professionalism. If you are working on your own personal project, you are free to do as you please. But when you work on your company's projects, you need to adhere to company policy, and remember that others will come to take over your code some day.
