Download theme licensed under GPL3 by the author.

How the hell can you license something as GPL and add this in the readme?
From my understanding the theme being licensed as GPL3 means I can sell it, re-release it, remove copyright , do whatever as long as I don't change the licence and supply the source.

the license forbids you from removing copyright
This should only apply to the copyright in the start of the files correct? As in code made to display the copyright can be freely removed?

Also just as a general question, once it's licensed under GPL3 it can not be "sublicensed" as the author has attempted ?
