I accidentally my hugest partition!
I was my by far biggest partition, with practically all my video, including all my pr0n. It's ext4. The actual partition didn't break, just the data. Most of the files are gone, though all the folders are still there, and only about half the space came back. It happened because of a moving error. fsck says everything's fine.
How fucked am I? What do?
(I know that god did this to me because of my hostile attitudes to jesus, mohammed and gay rights, I just received huge indications, not that that's of interest to anyone)

The trash bin does not have any of the files, though I don't think it could because it's on a different partition and the hosing happened in just a few seconds.
I've been considering activating my torrent client, in hopes that it will at least rediscover those files, though I'm sure that has chance of making things worse, but I don't have much on that partition anymore.

My backups are sporadic, instead I just backup personal things roughly every day. I don't have really proper backup devices.

boot up into a puppy linux liveCD and try to recover the files. there's an option in GParted too I think for data recovery.

no. but you can format the drive once you're booted into puppy. just make sure it is unmounted before taking out the drive, or formatting it!
