Question from under a rock: how big was actually the progress of display industry for last 10 years? I have a cheapass Acer 1360x768 LCD display I bought like in 2007. Previously I had 1280x1024 Dell LCD from 2003 and only difference Acer had is a bit better upscale quality from low resolutions. If I buy similarly cheap modern display will I notice any difference? Did LCD technology overcome motion blur problem and how expensive are LCD displays which have 0 amount of ghosting like CRT had, if there are any?

>0 amount of ghosting like CRT had
I mean perceivable ghosting, because lets be realistic.

Ghosting on a CRT? Are you high?

Do you know what "zero" means?

Ghosting in CRT is possible.

If you're using a 10 year old LCD, throw it away and buy a new one. You will save enough money on your energy bill in a few years to pay for itself, literally no reason not to upgrade unless you need the money for food or rent.

It's only 19W anon.
It's OK for typing text. But I bought few games on steam sale recently, and the experience is just cringe worthy compared to what I remember about playing UT99 on CRT. So I'm asking, do modern displays offer acceptable performance or just anyone but me learned to deal with LCD flaws in these years?

Yes, better upscaler, digital connections, more inputs, better color. Just buy the cheapest IPS panel monitor you can find and it will be a huge improvement. Old LCDs tend to have this piss yellow tinge to them.

Allright then. Mine has morgue blue tinge though.
