I'm split between getting a singe 1080p@144Hz monitor, single 2160p@60Hz, and triple 1080p@60Hz. Which would you choose and why?
depends for what youre usung them. I would choose the 3 monitors so i can play some games and watch porn at rhe same time

Gaming. I can't decide if I want noticeably high frame rates or pixels. I've used a 144Hz monitor before but it was for work. 4k sounds nice and with pascal its playable but I also want to try triple display. My budget is around $400

Go with 144Hz

Why? Wouldn't multiple monitors be better? I honestly have no idea, this is my first PC build.

I've had multiple monitors, you will literally never use both while gaming and if you buy the one 144Hz then you will eventually get another monitor anyway for background shit like Netflix

Oh thanks. Any other suggestions?

I use an Ultrawide surrounded by 2 vertical 1080p monitors.
144hz for gaymen xD!
Personally I would just get one of those 1440p 144hz IPS monitors.
I am just waiting for a reasonably priced ultra wide 1440p desu

This. I have a BenQ 2420Z (1080p 144hz) as my "primary" monitor, and a (relatively) cheap Samsung 1080 60hz screen as my "secondardy" monitor. Works well.

That kind of thing is an order of magnitude more expensive.

Get the 144hz one and look for one or two cheap ones if you want multiple monitors for desktop shit. Used ones will be fine for whatever you're going to use it for.
