I need to buy a new desktop computer that is good for gaming , video/audio capture, and editing, etc.
I don't know jack shit about computers and I want to customize it online and have it sent to me pre-built.
Assuming you have a fairly loose budget, how you assemble a good, versatile gaming computer?
>fyi, I am tech-illiterate, but I do intend to get better so I can customize in the future
These are the websites I found

If you are going to be doing some video editing and stuff like that get an i7.

List several of the highest end games you are interested in. Those requirements will determine your specs needed.
Video editing/rendering & encoding likes a very powerful CPU with cores. How important & common will each of these activities be? Estimate percentage & time per month.

check out logicalincrements.
For most video editing you won't need an i7 unless you're like a super high end editor.
Get a 6600k with a nice custom cooler then a decent GPU like 480/1060/1070
Make sure you budget it this way
PSU > CPU > GPU > SSD > CASE > everything else
That way you'll always have everything good enough to upgrade in the future and always have it working with no bottlenecks.

Well editing/rendering is part of my job, so its going to be rather important. I study film, acting, theater, etc and I can't keep using the school's shitty technology. Some friends of mine are also going to make a satirical news show to make fun of Liberals, hipsters, and black people. We are going to be doing this a good bit, as we've been planning it for about 2 years.
I guess the highest end games I want to play are the Total War games (especially Warhammer). Rust, Battlefront III, GTA, shit like that.
