Got one for like 5 bucks on Amazon.

When type c came out there was an issue with third party cables causing issues either due to quality or being out of spec . After that I would assume the increase in QC would make them more expensive .
I'm not an expert

Is that Google engineer still testing USB cables and posting results? He might have a reasonably priced one identified.
