Hello /g/:

Let me start by saying this is currently the PC I work on (it was a gift please have mercy):

http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-TouchSmart-300-1100-Desktop-PC-series/4079688/model/4176676/document/c02056468/

I was thinking about taking the dive and testing out the SFF niche and taking the dive on the Intel NUC Skull Canyon. I looked at the specs, and while it's nothing spectacular, it seems interesting. At this point I feel like anything would probably feel amazing compared to what I currently use. I'd use it for emails, web browsing, some MS office work, and light gaming (ex: Minecraft, Don't Starve, LoL, and Lego Marvel are all games that I use to play, so they are a decent indicator of the capabilities it would be nice to have). The only one I still currently play is Don't Starve Together, and I can still run that, so I figured this guy should be able to handle it no problem. I also heard that Gigabyte is about to push out a new thing of Brix, one was like this aluminum rectangle and the other looked like something alienware would make, but I am not sure when they are going to be released or even how much it would cost. I know price wise, building would be cheaper, but I am also curious about the SFF niche, the small/minimalist design is appealing for desk space is visually appealing and just to see what this niche is good for, but of course, if it is is just ridiculously too much for what it is, then maybe I'll hold off for now. So what do you guys think? If I end up going with it, I can always come back and give you guys a review of what it is like with my workload.

And in general how do you feel about these barebone SFF kits?
>>
They're simply epic.

What about the SFF do you enjoy?

O ok.

Too fucking long and rambly. Didn't finish reading. Fuck off and cut to the chase next time.

tl;dr what are you thoughts on Skull Canyon?

Also, it's open to general discussion about SFF kits as well if they want.

This is a problem with SFF

I guess if you go in on SFF, you gotta accept the size constraints. Otherwise, you might as well go for a full tower, no?
>>
Very interesting format, but a Mini ITX build can be as good (and way cheaper, of course). You just have to use a small case.

Just use a low-profile card.
