500W is enough for any single CPU and GPU assuming you aren't doing some stupid OC.

you can easily OC the CPU to 4.5GHz and even the GPU to whatever it can hit on air cooling.

By stupid OC I mean LN2 cooling and trying to pull a 5.2GHz OC or some shit.

Your CPU is 95w at stock, OC'd it might be able to pull 175w.
Your GPU is 145w, OC'd maybe 200w in worst case scenario.
That's at most ~375w. Add in your other components is another ~50w at most.

So ~425w even OC'd to pretty high levels.

Its been confirmed by some professional who knows their shit that a worthwhile motherboard can supply up to 200w over a PCI-E slot without problems.
75w is just a minimum standard. There's no reason why a higher grade motherboard cannot supply more than the MINIMUM standard capacity.

Anon, did you notice that the 480 goes over the 75W limit way more often than the 960? I mean, it doesn't take a genius to see that if you take the integral of both graphs, the 480 will be SIGNIFICANTLY higher.
