The reason it does that has to do with the way it does gapless transitions between tracks (and when repeating a single track). Whenever a song is set to play, a playlist is generated. This also happens when you loop a single track, but the playlist instead consists of only that single track. Pressing next/previous does what it needs to, but with only a single track in the playlist it won't have anything else to switch to.
TLDR rockbox's repeat one implementation is fucking stupid because "muh gapless playback" gimmick.

Both urandom and random use the same PRNG. /dev/random just has some debunked bullshit about "estimating entropy" added on top of that.

Reading from /dev/random drains randomness from the kernel in the same way that reading from a pipe drains it's content.

Here's a little experiment you can do, and make sure to disabled haveged if you have it on:

$ cat /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail
2005 # take note of this value
$ cat /dev/random > /dev/null              
^C
$ cat /proc/sys/kernel/random/entropy_avail
93 # look! the available entropy in the system went down!
