Building a new rig with power to support 4k.
From what I've read with monitors its either get a 4k monitor and sacrifice 144hz, or go lower resolution and get that ultra-fast refresh rate.
I'm willing to sacrifice the 144hz for 4k. Now the question is TN or ISP.
I know TN is better for games because muh 1ms, but the IPS has better colors. Now im planning on using it to play vidya and watch movies (also getting a blu-ray optical drive for it) so is a TN good enough for that? I am NOT doing much content-creating.
TL;DR: TN vs. IPS for vidya and movies

>for vidya and movies
To avoid 3:2 judder get a 120/144hz monitor. Also, there is currently no point to getting a 4k monitor for vidya and movies anyway.

So what you're saying is 1080/1440 144hz > 4k 60hz?

For vidya and movies? Yes.

TN or ISP then?

IPS*

IPS is preferrable to TN as it has better viewing angles, brightness consistency and generally better color production.

Unless you're getting a hell of a deal on a 4k monitor, a 1080 or 1440 are better for vidya and movies.

I found a 28 inch for $300, but im seriously considering just going with 1440p because of the buzz im hearing about 144hz
1440p TN or IPS for vidya/movies,
