Shouldn't any problems going from 10.6 to EC but i can't help you with how well it will run it though most ppl who has done it on equivalent hardware recommends a SDD and 8bg ram

I was considering this approach too. I've got about 100GB spare for a partition. Is it possible to download EC straight onto a blank partition or is the only way through an image/updating an existing install?
