Same. Microsoft just went way overboard with the flat and minimalist. Their shit is just solid colored rectangles. Google and Apple pulled it of way better. Hell, even Gnome and Ubuntu didn't fuck it up, only Microsoft.

Holy fuck can we stop with this. Windows 10 did a lot of things right. Not everything design-wise is perfect, but we can point out successes in even the most botnet of things.

Am I the only one that really likes the current material design and whatever it's called that Apple is doing? Much better than the gaudy skeuomorphism that used to be so prevalent.

I like Apple's flat design. It's (generally) pretty consistent, looks nice and futuristic, and also the animations work well. The only thing I dislike are the waggling icons that use the phone's accelerometer. Absolutely useless. You can reduce it, but if you disable it altogether you also lose the pretty animations.
Google's material design is pretty good too. I especially like the colours. Could use a bit more transparent elements though.
