Hi guys,
I bought a cheap offshore FTP backup storage, but it's just an FTP without any way to securise it.
But I got a VPS... And I mount the FTP on it with CurlFtpFs.
But I don't feel safe with it. I want crypto everywhere. So I was thinking about create a big empty file on this ftp, and use it as an encrypted filesystem in a file.
Do you think it's a good idea? Do you think the russian hosting will not being mad about this usage if it's works?

They don't give a fuck.
Do it OP.
SFTP?

That's transport encryption. OP wants content encryption.
Problem with your big file is that you'll need to upload the whole thing with every commit.
Not sure what to suggest though
