If "Stalled" was switched to "Connecting" nobody would whine. Every client "stalls" at the beginning of a download, when looking for peers. I've never experienced random stalling in the middle of a download, unless there are 0 peers suddenly.

THANKS BASED QBITTORRENT
>>
We've solved the "stalled" meme a thousand times.

It happens when a tracker hasn't whitelisted the new version of qBittorrent. Bakabt is particularly slow about whitelisting new versions, which is why cries of "stalled" pop up so frequently on /g/. If you actually look at the tracker status it will tell you more, but everyone just looks at the torrent status, sees "stalled" and flips their shit. Bitch at your trackers to get it fixed.

>>
>>55166666
>Its a meme made by people trying to download torrents with 0 seed 0 peers

that's not the case at all. it actually stalls randomly even with many seeds.
>>
>>55168769
>It happens when a tracker hasn't whitelisted the new version of qBittorrent

Wrong. It happens on every tracker. Public or private.
>>
>>55169216
>it actually stalls randomly even with many seeds.
>>55169224
>Wrong. It happens on every tracker. Public or private.
There are several reasons a torrent might stall. The most relevant one for /g/ is bakabt (or another tracker) failing to whitelist new versions of the client.

But in general, a torrent might stall for any of the following reasons:
>Your connections get rejected by other peers (trying to download from places that don't like to connect to your country)
>The swarm doesn't like you for whatever reason (small number of seeds in initial seeding mode most commonly)
>Your router is a gigantic piece of shit (very likely, consumer routers are trash)
>Your ISP is a gigantic piece of shit (also likely, there's not an ISP in existence that's good)
>Your shit is configured incorrectly (your upstream rate limit or UPnP/port forwarding is probably fucked)
>Your network doesn't like traffic on whatever port you've got qBittorrent configured to use
Or like fifty other things. /g/ lacks the knowledge to diagnose some of these issues and just blames the client. If it was an actual problem, you'd see similar issues in other libtorrent-based clients.
>>
Sticking to v.3.2.4

All the newer versions I tried would fuck up all the time.
>>
>>55169364
The stalling bug was real and was confirmed by the project maintainer. Apparently, it had to do with UDP.

Here he is confirming that qBittorrent does sometimes stall and that 3.3.5 fixes it the UDP issue that causes it.

https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/5052
>>
>>55169549
Well shit. Fair enough, I guess. I hadn't seen any evidence of people getting an entire list of stalled torrents before, so I had been writing it off as isolated configuration or network errors.

true some dont, but some do and it makes no difference really.
fun fact that qbittorrent is better on linux (at least for me) but it has some insane file corruption features that happen much more often than on win.

bassicly use ut 221 and you wont have any problems, ANY even if you dont config it.
also fuck the security meme for ut 221.
>>
>>55179386
What the fuck are you talking about? He said it's a generic message that shows up any time the torrent isn't active. This is true.
Stalled will show up if the torrent's dead. If you're seeding and there's no peers. If you're disconnected from the fucking internet. Any time the torrent isn't active.

STALLEDtorrent refers to qBittorrent's poor connectivity, which leaves torrents in a STALLED state when other clients would connect. It's not something that everyone would pick up on because you can't tell the difference between an actual dead torrent and one that just looks dead in qBittorrent from looking at qBittorrent alone. You have to have enough of a feel with a good client to know something has to be up with qB and to check on it. Then you'll see all the seeds you were missing.
If they went and totally fucked it, call it qBROKEtorrent. The STALLEDtorrent name is taken.
>>
>>55179678
should i even reply to this, i guess its over.
what you said is true in teory, but in real action its not.
what you all who defend this state is that this only happens when inactive, no peer, dead torrent... whatever non client thing. This is the fact that is untrue.

i can only say dont use qbittorrent on windows because you will mostly get problems.
if you compare ut 221 and qbit: tell me why the fuck is a program that released in 2011 more stable and has less problems than qbit that is NOW in latest form? im not saying ut 221 is masterwork but it really is compared to qbit.

I have gigabit internet, and I seed like fuck

Even for obscure torrents literally never had a problem
>>
>>55181387
I seed but I limit it to 15 KB/s... am I a bad person? :(
>>
>>55181209
They are slowly fixing it. They have a lot of contributors and users now so it will eventually be pretty stable.

>>

There's nothing to fix, stalling has never been and still is not a problem, it's just some dumbass troll meme created by no lifers on /g/
>>
>>55184310
Even FOSShub, their download host, doesn't support https.

Weird huh?

>stalling has never been and still is not a problem

Except the maintainer had acknowledged it was a problem due to a UDP bug.

It's due to libtorrent, see the bug comments.
They are working on it.

Nice meme bro. Maybe if you keep posting "STALLED" it will actually come true.

Meanwhile in real life, I've been using qBittorrent for years without any stalling whatsoever.
