When i was about 12 years old, my uncle was having a garage sale and gave me his unsold Yamaha CR-220. Which was a nice receiver, pic related, though not my pic. I had gotten some nice wood paneled speakers from my grandpa as a birthday gift a month later, and was using it to listen to the radio and as nice audio output for winamp from my 2003 clientpro

basically my mom lost her shit when her doctor changed her medicated to something she shouldnt have been taking, and she flipped out on me one day for biking more than 2 blocks from my house, and forced to me throw all of my nice shit out, this included the receiver, speakers, a small boombox i was given, the computer, my drafting equipment and a lockbox i had that i refused to open because it contained two of my most protected possessions (a 1999 mcdonalds beanie baby cat and a silver dollar).

i had called my friend from 2 houses down to grab what he could from the trash but all he got out was the lockbox and my clientpro, which i told him to keep because he never had a computer and i couldnt exactly hide it from my mom

that was all 2008/2009 and im still pissed about it, i fucking loved that stereo setup, at least i still have the beanie baby cat

I've been buying Ultrasharps since about 2006 so I've used many pre and post-capacitive button models.

I like the capacitive buttons only because their old normal buttons take too much force to press. I can either just push it and possibly wiggle the monitor out of place or hold the monitor in place while pressing it, both are annoying.

But the functionality of the capacitive buttons do kind of suck. It's never quite consistent enough in responsiveness and I feel like sometimes there's lag associated with using them.

Man, in the 1990s, I envied people with SLRs so much. Then I found Practica PLC 3 (east Germany stuff, but good pre-1989, it was ex-Zeiss business I think) in the attic in perfect condition - Dad thought it got lost till then.

Man I felt like a king.
Then in a few years, digital cameras came.

That design is still nice to see though, it was solid, non-nonsense, and cool in a serious-bussiness way.

Mom had this TLR, shoots 6x6cm negatives (12 pictures per roll). It was great for big pictures, but man expensive.

Downside - 80mm fixed lens. And man it aint easy to learn to move the thing in reverse when looking into the viewfinder.
