Any thoughts on this build?
>I have an external optical drive
>I have 2 4tb external hdd's
I was told the msi 970 mobo didn't support the wattage the processor ACTUALLY put out and that msi makes bad mobos to begin with so I changed that component. Anyone have that gigabyte mobo? Is it good, long lasting etc...
Thanks for any advice.

AMD CPU's are dogshit right now. Either wait for Zen or get an i5-6600k.
Also, the 480 comes out in like a week get that 390 shit out of here.
Paying for windows 10....

I had pirated windows before its a pain in the ass and windows 10s automatic updates make pirated windows seem like a ticking time bomb.

390 is cheap enough but also powerful enough. I'm not much of a gamer i just want something to run the few games I do play really fucking well while the computer lasts longer than like a year before it bursts into flames.
My main concern is whether that motherboard is capable of handling that CPUs wattage.
I already have the parts i want, I just want to find the best motherboard for the CPU. I had an msi 970 but it had several capacitors fail on me because while they advertise 200 watt CPUs being handled it clearly could not.

rip a win 7 key from a friends laptop and use that instead

I don't mind paying for windows
My main concern is the motherboard. My msi mobo crapped out on me because it couldn't handle the CPUs varying wattage, I mostly wanted to know if that's. good mobo for the CPU.

there is no good am3+ cpu
either wait for zen or get something haswell based

This. Even though I have an AMD I wouldn't recommend getting one now. The price/performance just isnt there, you have to OC and for that you need to spend a shitton on a good mobo/cooler. The extra money can be used to just buy a better intel based build.

This would be a "good" mobo for the CPU if you want to OC. If you don't then just get one of these.

Op here, so you don't think the gigabyte board I picked out is good for the CPU?

It's too much if you don't OC and not enough if you want a decent OC. It's a jack of all trades.
