I remember, the last time I build a computer (>10 years ago), windows were still a pretty new thing for enthusiasts. If you wanted one, you had to use a saw and be a little creative. I kind of respected those people back then, because they were actually creating their own solutions. Nowadays it's just "If you want X, you need to buy Y and lego it together!", pretty boring. Same with stuff like able management, water cooling, gimmicky led shit etc. There are idiot proof solutions for everything. Kind of boring, especially because the "gamurz aesthetics" haven't evolved at all in those years. It's still the same kitsch as back then.

Those differences are from when we had heavy as shit parts and weaker plastics. Modern ones are able to be better designed for airflow or whatever. If you want older designs, then you don't want modern. Whatever your idea of a case, you may as well make it yourself.
Learn how to work fiberglass or kydex. Cut out the design you want. then dye. salvage a mobo mount and pci covers.

It actually looks pretty decent to me. I'm not sure what is "ricer" about that case other than the window and the fan controller display. The amount of room for water cooling, drive bays, and even single grommet coming out the back for all the cabling is a pretty neat idea.

Also, given that size and functionality, I don't think it's expensive at all. There are much larger cases that have room for a lot less that go for 250-350 dollars.

And the main difference between the models is the fan controller and number of included fans. They're all the same size and have the same number of slots for everything (except for hdd's and ssd's), so I don't see why the 87 costs so much more than the 84.
