Tell me about GPG/PGP, /g/.

I fired up seahorse in Ubuntu and generated my keypair, now what do I do? I've heard I'm supposed to distribute my public key.
>>
You know I've read about it and followed guides / tutorials a couple of times over the years and I still have no fucking clue what I'm supposed to do with it.

Nobody seriously exchanges public keys like they're in an 80's Russian spy b-movie, do they?

Sorry dude, but technology isn't that cool. There is no point to this life, and you searching for that spy movie experience is just futile. The bait images, flaming, casual racism and porn on this website are all we live for now. Your privacy is owned by these massive corporations. We are done.

Yes. That's exactly right.

What are you asking about? Post your public key here and messages than can only be decrypted by you will be posted.
>>

How would one create such messages? Oh owner of trips.
>>

seahorse is a keyring that manages your passwords.

you generate your keys via gpg2 --gen-key
and just distribute the public key to whoever you need
>>
>>55129068
However they want, I suppose?

For example, I'd just create my own PGP application using openpgp.js, but there are plenty of desktop applications that are already made and would do the same thing.

Really, now. Let's try this.

If you're asking to CREATE messages, then you'll need the public key of whomever you want to send a message too.
