>partitions udderly fucking, go into Ubuntu to try to solve the issues
>repair disk permissions using hfsprogs, still not booting
>repair disk option in disk utility, still not working
>eventually screw it up enough can't even erase disk or get it to mount

>hour later realize all I had to do is resize data partition to 50GB, create image as backup and restore OSX

There was a guy who used to help my buddy and his father before me. He wouldn't fix a simple problem so I decided to do it. That's when I took his spot. I made a huge mistake. I now realize why he refused to do the job. These people have problems every fucking week.
