It's true with Nexus devices. Nexus 5 beat iPhone 6 barely, iPhone 6s beat nexus 6p barely, they're both roughly the same.

1GB androids run just as smooth as 1gb iPhone, on my Nexus 5 android system is only using 350MB ram. That leaves 650MB for other applications if I had 1gb, which is plenty for the average user.
