>Need a 2TB drive for my Freenas box
>Zfs with ECC so recertified drives are lest risky
>See great offer on eBay
>2TB HGST drive for £50
>Buy now
>It arrives.
>Realise it's a SAS drive
>Fuck

It gets better

>Seller doesn't accept returns
>End up buying another drive elsewhere and fit it into my Freenas
>Rummaging around in my pile of shit
>Realise I have a raid card with SAS interface
>Freenas box has no more space for another drive

Shall I just flip the drive, the card and some other shit on fleabay?

Also, what are you doing buying a single drive for freenas? I sure hope it's to replace an existing one, or you're doing the whole redundancy thing wrong.

Just file the middle part away and use it as SATA.

I've never actually tried using apple products, yet I still always tell everyone about how awful they are.

Also, this one time I stopped some program whose name I don't remember from resizing my C and D partitions because I thought it hadn't started yet and it said that the remaining time was going to be like 6 hours long. I lost many, many things that day. Class documents, 4chan image macros, my smile, my collection of music, etc. all gone.
