It would make much more sense for the full version to have 2560 shaders, a cut down version with 2304 shaders and a further cut down version with 2048 shaders. Besides AMD stated they wanted to target the $100-300 price range and their highest end Polaris is $230.

That's what I'm hoping for. My 7870 is a decent performer for my needs, but it is getting long in the teeth and isn't holding its overclock well anymore.
