The only good Core i series were 2nd/4th generation.

3rd had heat spreader issues.
5th isn't an upgrade
6th's real world performance gains are from DDR4.

I really hope we get a quad channel DDR4 zen chip with 16cores. I'll shovel out $400 for that.
