well i have been using 15.4" format for a long time, first thing to notice is, they are both smaller than what i was used to.

the x220 is also smaller on your lap if you actually use it on your lap, you may be more comfy on a table with the x220, the t420 you dont have a issue with it, it fits on your lap perfect but the screen is still small.

the keyboard seems to be exactly the same between them? i didnt check part numbers yet but its the same size. the speakers are better on the t420 than the x220, theyre louder.

the mousepad on the x220 is small, it has a better feel on the t420 because it is a little bigger and has physical buttons off the pad. the x220 mousepad buttons are on the fucking bezel it really is different from what im used to, and the mouse moves if you try to use the buttons on the end of the mousepad.

if i were to buy them again, i may have gone with two t420, since the one on the pic is for my qt3.14 gf.

however, if portability is really a issue, the battery life for the x220 makes up for all the issues you may have with a smaller sized laptop compared to the two and a half hours on the 420.

The Cobalt driver has some weird snags with Adobe software, but otherwise it runs everything supported on 2K just fine, which is a decent lot of software, and with a PCI Voodoo2 I can play games as well.

all i seen was a laptop builder through which you could order your laptop but its still something else like a dell a clovo a thinkpad its not a custom laptop the way you described it.

glad you like it, thats a dr07 model, which is discontinued. unfortunately, they're like $200 online last i checked.

the closest thing to it is a dr-40. I really suggest that one because you can change the mic positions. to get really good ambient noise, or focused and really good detail in one direction. check out some reviews, the audio depth in quality these record at is great. just make sure you get a big sd card because highest quality chews through space fast.
