How long do you think it'll last? How long do you plan to use it before getting a new computer?
no such thing

My computer is 10 years old and I don't have any pressing need to replace it.
I use it to develop software.
Not everyone is a gamer manchild like you.

So you dont develop good software...

I'm not sure where you got the idea that you need a new computer to write software.
It's over 10 years old and I don't play video games, every Binbows and distro I tried ran perfectly so I don't see a reason to get a new computer.

>a software's worth is based on how resource-intensive it is
Classic 15yo gamer
Built gaming rig in 2010 for under £1000. Everything inside it is exactly the same except the graphics card which I upgraded to a GTX 970.
It plays everything I want it to play and has not failed me at all. I expect I'll build an entirely new rig in the next 3 years, but I'm genuinely surprised how well this has lasted.

At least buy a new case.

Modern cases make me vomit.
