How(Or I should be asking "where") do you learn these languages like APL? Just google and shit?
Also, it seems like there's a lot of advanced algebra implemented, how good do you have to be at algebra/calculus?

start with the docs of the creators,
get a grip on their motivation. then
grep the hubs/bitbucket/what have you, in case
no tuts are available.
check irc-channels and mailingslists, if available.
