Does anyone actually need a new card? Even a 6850 is more than enough for anyones needs. Break the habit, stop being such a consumer. There will always be a newer and better card, but you stopped needing a new card generations ago.

Try it with xrandr output sinks so you don't have to swap buffers between X sessions, there is more screen tearing and latency the way you are doing it, its noticeable in games.
