Can you guys guess what chip this is
>>54864182
AM2.
Or this one?
Together
>>54864212
athlon and pentium?
>>54864217
knope
>>54864182
LGA 911
>>54864182
Core2duo
>>54864182
It's some Phenom II or a harvested low end part based on one.
>>54864212
Any AMD socket 939 or AM2 chip .... most likely AM2
Boom
>>54864257
can't be core2duo, those arent LGA chips, they both have pins
and one is for sure an intel chip
my guesses are FM2 and Socket 478
>>54864318
Yep, a 939 chip. I was right
>>54864331
>can't be core2duo, those arent LGA chips, they both have pins
Core2Duo were made in BGA and pinned versions. The pins are just soldered to the BGA pads.
guess the sockets of these ones
>>54864431
you should clean your desk
>>54864431
Hey i have some cool ppc/sparc/arm socketed chips i can take photos for you guys to guess, let me find them.
>>54864477
dub dubs and that isnt my desk
>>54864431
FM2 on the far left, AM2+ on the far right. Poorfag here so i don't know much about the Intel ones in the middle.
>>54864484
any MIPS?
>>54864431
middle are two 478 and a 775
>>54864520
Yes but its not a socketed one, its from an n64 and an sgi one
>>54864477
>>54864512
>>54864531
overexposed chip is an E4500
>>54864557
What SGI you got senpai? I have an O2+ sitting in my attic that the PO left here.
>>54864580
>it was an FM1
well shit
>>54864605
onyx2
What about this one?
>>54864757
Looks like a GP100 board.
>>54864757
G5 from a Power Mac.
>>54864782
Nice, 970, 970FX, or 970MP?
>>54864792
Looks like just a heat sink instead of the liquid cooler so I'm gonna say lower clocked FX.
>>54864853
2GHz MP, not all MP models were liquid cooled
>>54864873
Really? Thought they were. I had a Quad 2.5 back in the day so I wouldn't have known.
>>54865237
Yeah, only reason I know is I bought a pair to replace my original 970s
>>54864605
Hey dude, i was looking for the chips on my basement and i found a tiny little snake that bit me and now im at the hospital, so um, keep the thread alive, ill post them tomorrow i guess.
>>54864182
athalon I have one here
>>54866017
fuck meant pentium
>>54864182
maybe
>>54864195
486 DX
>>54864182
Core 2 Duo
>>54864182
athlon x2?
Oh shit, this is a fun game.
Let me find my CPU bag, I'll post some too.
Ignore the bent pins, ok.
What about these?
>>54864212
AMD Athlon 64 X2 and Pentium 4 for socket 486
Found only a small part of my bag.
Swear I had a Pentium Pro somewhere. That one would've been interesting.
>>54869671
Loved this one.
Unfortunately it died on me ;_;
>>54869666
>>54869653
>>54869619
Thats nice tripcunt, but does it need a trip?
>>54864182
Athlon 64.
>>54864195
Socket 468.
>>54864182
Zen
Slightly harder perhaps? Mostly due to my inability to steady my hand when taking pictures.
Anyways, last one I managed to get my hands on.
>>54871158
He's dead Jim
>>54869619
O well, might as well post the other sides.
This is a K5 clocked at a mind numbing 66MHz
Actually pulled it from a dusty motherboard that had some RAM inside.
Might throw on a heatsink and test if it still runs.
>>54869653
A pair of Pentiums
Don't think I've ever used them.
>>54869666
486 DX2
Also no idea where I got it. Don't think we've ever had a working 486 machine in our house. Went from a 386 to a Pentium MMX.
>>54864182
Phenom I?
>>54869671
It's an AMD Duron 1300.
The Die is completely fucked after some dipshit I passed it on to failed to install the heatsink properly.
>>54869680
And a pair of Celerons, both clocked at 400MHz
Upgraded to these from a Via C3
>>54869893
This last one is actually a 3.2GHz Xeon from an old HP DL380 server I dragged home.
Love the copper heatsink it's attached to.
>>54864182
Athlon 64 X2.
>>54871808
Why you don't put it on a mobo and use it as a server?
>>54872187
Because it's old as fuck, Socket 603 Xeons are fucking Netburst.
>>54872187
Because it's old and really power hungry and loud?
It works and everything. It even has a tape drive, but it's legacy as fuck.
SCSI drives and shit
>>54872224
>>54872222
Legacy things are really funny. I still use my XT IBM computer
>>54872224
I actually see retards on Craigslist trying to sell DL380 G2s for hundreds of dollars.
>>54872247
>>54872240
I'd actually consider using it if it had slightly more modern features.
Like SAS drives.
SCSI drives are just old as dicks. I only have two 15k 36.1GB HP drives to go with it.
And the PCI-E riser cards cost a fortune because they're 'lifetime extenders'.
Wish I found a G5 instead of a G4. Those are actually still somewhat useful.
>>54872222
what does netburst mean? i found the same xeon 2 weeks ago, want to know what to do with it.
>>54874279
It's from the early 2000s.
>>54864182
AMD 64 X2
Diffused in Germany
Made in Chiner
>>54874279
Netburst was a design by Intel during the 2000s. It is arguably one of the worst CPU designs ever made. It was hot, power hungry and slow. It lost to the competing chip from AMD on every front, the only reason Intel stayed ahead was because of legitimately anti competitive practices, which landed them in court in at least three separate continents. If you have the chance to buy one of these chips, don't. If you already have one, it'll make a fine door stopper.
