Used qbittorrent for multiple years and stumbled upon my first I/O error, stalled, last night. Couldn't get it to go away, and no, it was not due to lack of storage or memory.

Then I discovered Ktorrent. It's perfect. Maxes out my network, just like qbittorrent, but does so much faster. It also has useful plugins OOTB and requires less dependencies, seeing as I am already using KDE.

Pleasantly surprised. Going to reinstall gentoo tomorrow (due to a bug I caused myself) and this time I'm going to stick to Ktorrent.

Some of the issues with qBittorrent (e.g. stalled torrents) are actually related to libtorrent, which is what qBittorrent is built around. So is Deluge, Halite and numerous other clients. All of these clients are going to produce the same issues. Your best bet is to use something not based on libtorrent, such as Transmission, Tixati or uTorrent (although I still wouldn't recommend uTorrent for other reasons)
