Is FreeBSD better than a Linux distro?

depends on what you're using it for
Usually yes.
No.

Not when it comes to hardware and third party support. Just look at the amount of Linux based mobile and server deployments. Heck. Even desktop support is better!

I would say BSD is more mature and stable. Depending on what you are planing to do, BSD can be a good choice for a serious Server.
I know that BSD is very popular for it's networking capabilities. If you need an OS for a router, BSD would be very nice. Also I think the main file system (can't remember the Name) is more popular than most linux file systems.
The main problem of BSD is that it lacks many popular packages or the implementation is behind, compared to linux. It's a very conservative system and wouldn't be a good choice for a multimedia or even gaming device.

What about my animes?

You can watch them, no problem. Mkv's, mp4's, whatever ya got.
That said, stop watching anime and do something useful for once.

It's certainly doable but I wouldn't expect much OpenGL support and stuff. Hell I'm not even sure if you can install mpv on it and if you can it will probably have a bad case of tearing.
