Is Linux the fastest operating system?
>>52230739
In what terms? How fast or slow the operating system runs is mostly dependent on hardware.
if linux is so fast why can't it play battlefield 4
>>52230739
Windows beats it in AES Nice Speed though. More proof that Linux users are cunts.
>>52230762
On the same hardware you idiot
>>52230812
No one with half a brain would even consider using AES.

Checkmate Linux

Sure, go ahead and use a fundamentally flawed, backdoored algorithm.
>>52230739
Benchmarks mean nothing

Explain the flaws

They fucking do though.
Maybe not when all you care about is how fluid animations look on your iPhone, but they certainly matters if you do grown-up computing.
Wouldn't the filesystem play a role in that benchmark ?
>>52230923
>grown-up computing
So, transactions per second?
>>52230832
Depends on application and how implementation was done.

>>52230923
Synthetic benchmark doesn't matter, tho.
There are a lot of variables that are not considered, you sure can compare a single one but in practice the result can and will be different. That doesn't imply that will keep or change the expected.
linux is not OS

Do many and average the results.
Actually, if your run the benchmark long enough it should be good because of the central limit theorem
>>52231484
Then why does my book called "Modern Operating Systems" only discuss kernels?
RMS is confused about basic CS terminology. Pretty sad actually.
