What should I be looking for in a solar USB charger?
Amperage/Wattage in comparison to the others.

from what i understand certain amperages are basically unusable. whats a good base amp to buy above?
how's the shelf life on these things anyways?
One that has really high mAh so you don't have to rely on sunlight.

Just buy a couple of replacement batteries.

Bicycle or motorcycle?
If motorcycle just get a 12v socket and hook it up to your battery, then just use whatever adapters you need.

should have posted a bit i learned.
good idea to get a large external battery pack, since straight solar to your shitphone isn't so swell.

bicycle.

maybe, but area i want to tour will be sunny away. popular too, so there would be hook ups i guess.

Practically speaking, a solar battery will take ages to charge a phone battery. I've got a couple here at home. It takes DAYS to get a full charge on a battery on a portable solar cell.
Just keeping a spare, charged battery is miles easier and more beneficial as opposed to trying to carry some form of portable solar cell.
Strictly speaking, I'd only use a solar cell for my phone if that was my absolute only source of electricity for some extended period of time.
