Any good silent mouses out there? Most of the ones I find are pretty shit
>>
I've just bought a Kana V2, feels pretty great.

Got tired of my Razer Deathadder 2013's rubber bumps falling off constantly, and it started to really jitter.
>>
>>51580760
I was thinking about getting a Zowie Gear FK1, any experience with that mouse.

Isn't the Kana some shitty laser mouse?
>>
>>51581234

Nah, the v2 is optical with the most comfortable dpi settings at 800/1600, Teflon feet included.
>>
>>51581149
Its aight. The buttons on the side are annoying at first when you keep accidentally clicking them, but you get used to it

Bought the Mionix Castor recently and the scroll wheel is really loud. It wasn't on the Avior 7k is it fucked? Its really fucking annoying when scrolling through long winded and very homoerotic literature.
>>
>>51580760
anyone hackintosh master race here and uses a magic trackpad?
Considering getting one only for dat smooth scrolling and swiping
>>
>>51581536

Same here, I got that and a G710+ keyboard. I don't think I can get a mech keyboard anywhere else for 70 bucks with this many features. I also like the quiet Cherry Brown switches.

>>
>>51586511
Did you go to vest guy? I got mine for $40 at vest guy. Seems like an alright mouse for the price, it's a christmas gift for an ebic gaymur xD
Logitech's "gaming" line is too ricey for me

do you /g/ooks recommend trackball mouse for work that involves a lot of excel and data entry (invoices, etc)?
Never used one before but it seems interesting.
>>
>>51580760
I was considering getting the g302 for my bro for Christmas (g303 too expensive). I have a g400 that he likes the feel of, he plays MOBAs and a little bit of fps. I've heard mixed things about the g402 and that most other mice in that price range (~30-50USD) are trash.

Thoughts? I'm not going to spend an extra $50 on a flawless sensor he probably won't notice anyway.
>>
G400s here.

Like it so much I bought another one as a spare

I'm fine with learning to use one.

>>
I'm gonna get the diamondback 2015 edition I really liked the shape of it
>>
>>51590546
it's a love it or gate it kind of thing.
It'll be awkward for the first day or 2, but then should feel natural.
if it's still not comfortable after a week of use, trackballs are not for you.
Personally I greatly pfefer trackballs, even for games. Although I don't play a lot of FPS
>>
>>51590925
Would you be able to recommend a good, but not too dear, one?
I checked the wiki but trackballs don't even get a mention. And I'm not sure how well I trust amazon reviews.

I think ball in the middle is the style I'd go for.

Abyssus. Incidentally it's also the best ambidextrous mouse on the market.

How is the sensor on the abyssus?

I am not that guy you quoted but i have small hands and my cm xornet has shit sensor, shit lod and is too wide, length is okay though, most mice are long as fuck and are killing me.
>>
>>51595275
It's considered to be one of the few mice with a "perfect" sensor but there are some jitter issues with certain mousepads because of how accurate the sensor is. Also, the lift-off distance is fairly high but that's fixed with a piece of tape if it bothers you. Aside from that, it's incredibly accurate, has no smoothing, acceleration, or angle snapping. Perfect in my eyes since it works great on my mousepad.
>>
>>51595453
>high LOD

well that's a dealbreaker for me, i guess i have to look for another small mouse, maybe zowie mico?
>>

I've tried most finger operated trackballs, so here's my personal list:

>Finger trackball cheap tier
- Kensington Orbit with scroll wheel. Pros: cheap trackball with scroll. Cons: only 2 buttons (but can be configured to register pressing both together as 3rd button)
- Logitech Trackman. Pros: good shape, 4 buttons. Cons: no scroll. (But can be configured so while holding one button the ball works as scroll wheel)
From those 2, I'd recommend the Kensington. the shape is a little less comfortable for extended periods of time, but no scrolling in 2015 = retarded. Don't buy Kensington Orbit without scroll ring, it's like the worst of both worlds.

>Semi-expensive tier
- kensington Slimblade or Expert Mouse - pretty much the same device, the shape and scroll is a bit different and that's all. From those I'd recommend the Slimblade only because it's a bit lower and thus (IMO) better for your wrist.

>Expensive tier
- CST trackball. not much to say about it. Great dpi, good build quality, not very good button layout (scroll wheel hard to reach)

>No longer produced GOD tier
- Microsoft Trackball Explorer - if you can find it cheap in decent condition, get it. It's still the best trackball ever made, even if its DPI is not very good for todays standards. Check thrift stores, ebay and amazon prices are wallet raping, but you can sometimes find it used in a thrift store/good will for $5-$15
- Logitech Cordless Trackman - needs a bit getting used to, as the ball axis is diagonal, but it has nice build quality and 8 buttons. Also no longer produced, but IMO not nearly as good as MS. (But still more comfortable than any trackball on the market today)

>???? tier
- Elecom M-DT2URBK - it just came out in Japan 2 days ago, noone has it yet so I don't know how good it is. From the photos, looks decently comfortable and the specs seem good.

Personal recommendation: Wait a few weeks for the Elecom. If the reviews are bad, buy Kensington Orbit with scroll ring.
>>
>>51580760
Best mouse I've ever had. It came with the rattling sensor but it haven't gave me any problems since I fixed it. I hope you like scrollwheels with bumpy feeling though
>>
>>51595209

>>51580760
Git ready for hand cramps.

Unless you're just using it for browsing shit it'll be fine.
>>
>>51587969
Did you put the Dew their on purpose?
>>
>>51580760
Can anyone recommend a mouse for those with palm pain? (The pain/soreness is not in the wrist, but the palm for me.) Are trackballs good for these?

I don't game, but am a heavy photoshop user. Even with switching to using a drawing tablet for PS, my right hand can't take more than a few hours of mouse usage now.
>>
>>51586060
well what the fuck is it
>>
>>51599347
Maybe something fairly big, like logitech mx master, or that weird microsoft mouse? Try them out in a store to see what fits your hand.

As for trackballs, I'd recommend trying to find an used one: either MS Trackball Explorer, or Logitech Cordless Trackman - the new designs are not 100% ergonomic. Or get one of the japanese thumb trackballs
>>
Bought an Abyssus yesterday. Sensor, weight and size feel amazing, though I kinda wish it had side buttons since I mapped a lot of shit to those on my old mouse.

Been using for a year now, best mouse I've ever used, had a Deathadder 2013, and a g400s before that.
>>
The scroll wheel on this thing is amazing. It feels terrible every time I use another mouse and I can't flick to fast scroll.
>>
>>51600205
i'm unreasonably angry that logitech owns this patent
the way they retire certain mouse lines makes it so they don't always have an "ideal" mouse available, and half of them don't even have the wheel in the first place

getting used to a mouse you like, then logitech discontinues everything similar to it, and you can't buy a competitor because you need the wheel, since the wheel is the biggest quality of life improvement since getting rid of the god damn ball...
it's tiring
>>
>>51595453
The 2014 still jitters? That's a shame. I know it uses the S3888 still, but I figured they would have solved the problems of the original by now.

>>51595558
The MiCO has been out of production for a while as far as I know. You could give the Zowie ZA13 a shot. 3310 sensor with a cozy 120mm length. Suits smaller hands nicely.
