GPU GENERAL
Keep shitposting to a minimum.
OP needs some buying advice:
Use case:
- Currently looking to replace my HD6950
- Card will be mostly used to play recent games after work at 1440p
- Anticipate to buy a VR headset if any good (dx12 and vr optimization would be nice)
- Do scientific computations professionally so CUDA is nice but not required at all as we also have CUDA cards on server at work
In short, I need something that can push 90+fps in 1440p reliably.
I have been eyeing the GTX 980ti for a while now but that is 700EUR while the 390X seems like better value for my use case at 400EUR.
Nvidia would be nice because I run Linux for work and CUDA and better Linux drivers is appealing, but this card is mainly for my Windows gaming desktop.
Currently leaning towards the 390X due to the premium on Nvidia products in Europe. AMD is just better value here.
Pro's and cons or alternatives, /g/?

pls respond
Let's say your budget max is a gtx980ti at 700eur. You could buy two 390 nitro for that money. That's what I'd do.
I own a 980ti and I wish today that I'd bought dual furys.

>hey guyse i need some of that dere advice on what gpu to buy
Every fucking time. I don't understand why people can be so dense. Honestly. On the market right now you have like 3 options depending on budget. Everything else you choose, regardless of performance is going to be price inefficient. Here are your options and these apply to everyone else.
>380
>390
>980Ti
>980Ti SLI
Anything below or above is not worth getting. Try to fit into one of those segments.

Why havent you switched to OpenCL? The amd consumer cards have better double precision.

Jut ask google about "gpu benchmark".
