Probably good idea to just wait for the GPU die size in about 4-6 months then upgrade. But if you do upgrade to Skylake now it's a decent performance boost.

Motherboard features missing from a socket 1155 motherboard such as M.2, USB 3.1 et cetera are the only reason to upgrade from a 2500k.

it's very worth replacing the 2500k if you do CPU intensive tasks. if you only care about video games then it doesn't really matter since most video games are limited by your GPU. the 2500k isn't that great, but there's virtually no demand for faster processors for the average user.
